Happy 80th birthday Arne!
Some 200 guest from all over the world showed up on the reception in Stockholm at the Waterfront Congress Center. It was a beautiful day in May with deep blue sky and a sunny City Hall – aka Nobel Prize back drop – outside the panorama windows. The visitors were friends, family, elite athletes, government officials and sports and medical colleagues. Several absent guests had sent video greetings and they were screened at the end of the reception...in connection with the unveiling of the gift – the sculpture created to promote pure health and clean sports, honoring the anti-doping legacy of Professor Arne Ljungqvist's life long efforts for athlete's health and the basic fundament of all sports – fair play.
