More than a sculpted hand...
It may have been caused by the fact that the first out of 20 sculptures was to be placed in Monaco and to be unveiled by a Prince. Somewhere after that news was announced, the sculpture grew into a monument. A series of ideas was discussed, drafted, and presented to the Foundation.
Sassona Norton and the owner of the foundry Independent Casting Inc., in Philadelphia, Jeb Wood, agreed to generously contribute to the project with the design and production of two different frustums for the first two Et Purus monuments. For Monaco, a globe was designed, and for Stockholm, a conical mirror platform was planned.
